Lapsed Friends

As Doctor Johnson once said "A man should keep his friends in good repair".

Here are listed friends who have become distanced by time and who do not keep in regular contact. They remain friends, but not ones with who I see very often, if at all.

Jonty

Jon Lloyd

I've known Jonty since 1986 and he worked in insurance for quite a few years and has since seen the light. He now works as a DJ for Choice FM in Birmingham.

Mr Lloyd is a splendid character and is highly entertaining, most notably for his quirky intelligent behaviour. Is that eccentricity?

Mark

Mark Fletcher, CBS

I've known Mark since 1987, when he used to work for me as a lad. Now he's very important in his own underpants and is Customer Services Manager for Policymaster. Send him an e-mail if you care!

Kürsat

Kürsat Egriboz, CBS

Kürsat is from Istanbul and now lives in Birmingham, working for Ecotec, an environmental agency. He lives in Edgbaston where luckily there are very rarely any earthquakes!

You can e-mail him at kursat_levent_egriboz@ecotec.co.uk.

Dominic Commane, CBS

Dominic and I became acquainted through Andrew Everitt. Dominic works in Stained Glass and does many repairs to buildings of antiquity and also one off commissions. He has restored all the stained glass at Eaglehurst and was commissioned by Simon Murray to create a very special Armorial panel for me in 1992, as a birthday present.

Dominic is 33 in October 2001 and lives in Malvern, with his partner of 6 years, Willian Hyett, who is a Botanist and whom he met on my birthday in 1994.

Robin Long, CBS, MB

I became friends with Robin in the summer of 1997, after he came to Eaglehurst via an associate of Ken Sloan.

Following Wayne Horne's fall from grace six months later, Robin and I became closer, but circumstances dictated that it was not to be.

Robin graduated in Politicial Science from the University of Birmingham and following his post-graduate return to his native city of Manchester, he was last heard of living in Nottingham.
